BB cream vs CC cream? #eng

Hellooo~

In this post, I tried to define what is bb cream, what its make different from foundation, and what is cc cream. I’ll start with its history and what exactly it is.

Okay, let’s start with BB cream first. As we know now, most of makeup brand have their own BB cream product. BB cream stand for blemish balm or blemish base, in Western it called beauty balm. BB cream is promoted as all-in-one facial cosmetic product, it has makeup and skincare ingredient such serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. It can be worn alone as regular foundation and without powder depending on the amount of coverage.

1960s BB Cream

BB cream was originally formulated in the 1960s in Germany by dermatologist Dr. Christine Schrammek, she formulating bb cream to protect her patient’s skin after facial peels and surgery. Now, bb creams come in variety of different formulations. In Korean and East Asian markets, they offered in a limited number of hues/tones because Korean companies only focused on their markets and East Asian markets. They only offering some tones that match to user’s skin tone, they also put skin-whitening ingredient that are important element in Asian, and that makes bb cream popular.

BB cream is promoted as a all-in-one treatment, but in Korean mostly use it as an alternative to foundation, because those with Western formulations tend to be too heavy for their tastes. Its coverage is often mineral-based, and is intended to both cover and treat blemish such as acne, sun and age spot, it also anti-wrinkle.

What’s CC cream? Is it same or different to BB cream?

CC cream is basically BB cream with another formula. From what I have tried CC cream has white color, but it changes to your skin tone as you apply on your face (like magic, I’m shocked at first. LOL). CC cream stands for Color Control Cream, that’s why it can match to your skin tone. But it has less coverage than BB cream. Now CC cream has more tone, maybe like natural beige and light beige.

  • ·         BB Cream:

I’ve tried some of BB cream and CC cream, like…..
